I like that you mentioned that you might even be punished when you don’t do anything wrong. I’m a coercive control researcher and it’s so important (and hard) to provide offramps from violent extremism and hate fueled ideologies. I’m really inspired by the few groups who do it, like Life After Hate.
I lived in a full blown cult for some time. When I escaped I realized most of the country was a cult. Nothing like experience to give you the real hard truths.
